D4.1 Sociotechnical Analysis Framework
This document forms the basis for the sociotechnical embedded field analysis in the SPATIAL project. It provides a framework for determining the key processes and people to enable holistic technology development. The document presents a theoretical foundation based on Human-Computer Interaction, Science and Technology Studies, and Practice Theory to enable an embedded field analysis focused on the social, legal, and technical limitations and gender and diversity considerations in AI development. The research design and analysis procedures provide insights into the practicalities of the multi-sited ethnographic analysis of AI tool development.
